Bones found at WW2 crash site

HANK, Netherlands, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Bones that could be the remains of a British airman shot down during World War II have been found near the site of a crash in the Netherlands.

Expatica reports that aircraft parts were found next to the remains.

Seven airmen lost their lives in 1944 when their Halifax bomber crashed near the town of Hank. Two of the bodies were found and buried at the time, but five were not.

Mayor Henk Hellegers said that the bones would be examined by an Air Force identification team.
