Saudi CP: King Fahd health stable

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, May 30 (UPI) -- Saudi Arabia's King Fahd is in stable condition in a Riyadh hospital, Crown Prince Abdullah told government officials Monday.

"The medical exams and tests conducted for His Majesty King Fahd proved his is a stable and assuring health situation," Abdullah told the regular cabinet meeting Monday.

Abdullah thanked the leaders of Arab Gulf states, Arab and Islamic countries and friendly countries of their concern over the king's health.

Interior Minister Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz said late Sunday Fahd's health was improving continuously.

The 84-year-old monarch was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and a high fever.
