Guatemala:Well known lawyer fatally shot

GUATEMALA CITY, May 17 (UPI) -- A search was under way Tuesday in Guatemala for three unidentified men wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a prosecutor.

Erick Gavez was shot and killed by unidentified gunmen Monday, shortly after finishing a case that ended with a 30-year murder sentence. The slaying occurred in the eastern Chiquimula province, Guatemalan Radio Cadena reported Tuesday.

Galvez reportedly handled numerous cases over the years, many involving homicide and drug trafficking charges.
