Fire destroys 120 shops in Cairo

CAIRO, May 7 (UPI) -- A huge Saturday fire destroyed 120 clothing and textile shops at a bazaar in central Cairo.

A police official said the blaze started in a perfume shop and quickly spread to the rest of the bazaar. He said no injuries occurred, since the fire occurred at dawn, when few people were in the area.

Damage was estimated the losses at 5 million Egyptian pounds ($1 million).
