MLK service: 'More warriors, less wimps'

ATLANTA, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- A commemorative service Monday at the home church of the late Rev. Martin Luther King in Atlanta called for more warriors for non-violent change.

"The front line is not for wimps, but is for warriors," Dr. Suzan Johnson Cooke of The Bronx Christian Fellowship in New York told the congregation of Atlanta's Ebenezer Baptist Church. "I want you to turn to your neighbor right now and ask, 'Are you a wimp or are you a warrior?'"

Cooke urged the congregation to be more like King and make use of their education and freedom, but not just on the anniversary of King's birthday, reported WXIA-TV in Atlanta.

"I have a dream, too, that one day we'll put down our Guccis and put aside our hoochies." Cooke said. "And we'll take these degrees and this wonderful freedom we have and we'll roll up our sleeves and get to work."
