GAZA, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- A Hamas leader Wednesday criticized Palestine Liberation Organization Chairman Mahmoud Abbas for calling the 4-year-old Palestianian intifada a mistake.
Sami Abu Zuhri, a spokesman for Hamas in Gaza, told UPI in a telephone interview Abbas' statements do not serve the Palestinian cause.

Abba also said the Palestinian Authority would work to end the intifada and vowed to unite and rehabilitate the Palestinian security apparatus.
"The statements contradict the Palestinian consensus on the legitimacy of resistance and ending the occupation. It is a converted reading, the problem is not the Palestinians, the problem is the occupation," Abu Zuhri said.
