Nader blasts two-party system

WASHINGTON, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Ralph Nader ripped the two-party system of the United States in a withering attack on both President Bush and John Kerry.

Nader said that he had called Kerry 25 times in the last 35 days to complain about court challenges to his candidacy -- but not one call was returned, the New York Times reported Friday.

He called efforts by Democrat lawyers to keep him off next week's presidential ballot "the single most disgraceful political bigotry" that the Democrats have been engaged in "in the last century."

In 2000 Nader was on the ballot in 43 states, but this time a coordinated response by Democrats has cut that number to 34 states plus the District of Columbia.

As for Bush, the feisty consumer advocate-turned-independent presidential candidate said Thursday that Bush was "a chicken hawk, draft-dodging, messianic militarist presiding over a no-fault government."

Nader also had choice words for Howard Dean, saying the former Vermont governor had gone from being an "insurgent" to being a "detergent" who is now "washing the Democratic Party's dirty linen."
