Chief Judge Abduallh Sidik of the Central Jakarta district court said Gunawan was guilty of violating anti-terrorism laws enacted following the October 2002 Bali bombings that killed 202 people.

Gunawan, is the younger brother of Hambali alias Riduan Isamuddin, the Jemaah Islamiyah's operation chief in Southeast Asia and Asia's most wanted man until he was captured in Thailand in August 2003. He was handed over to U.S. authorities and remains in custody at an undisclosed location.

Gunawan was accused of being a fundraiser for the Marriott hotel bomb attack on Aug. 5, 2003. He helped his brother Hambali transfer $50,000 of money, which was reportedly used by two Malaysian most wanted terror suspects -- Azahari Husin and Noordin Mohammed Top -- to fund the bombing.

JI has been blamed for the October 2002 bombing of two nightspots in Bali that killed at least 202 people. JI also stands accused of being behind the Marriott blast.
