Cuba's Castro falls flat on his face

HAVANNA, Cuba, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Cuban President Fidel Castro took an embarrassing header during a ceremony commemorating his fallen comrade Che Guevara.

The dictator of the Caribbean island nation tripped and fell Wednesday night at the mausoleum of Guevara breaking his leg and fracturing his arm.

Photos of the 78-year-old Castro tripping then splayed out face first on the floor made the pages of many Latin American newspapers from Mexico to Chile.

Castro said he was alright after the fall that was broadcast live in Cuba.
