Fire at Carter home suspicious

TORONTO, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Fire officials in Toronto, Canada, say the fire at the home of noted legal crusader Rubin "Hurricane" Carter is suspicious and have ordered an investigation.

The Tuesday fire caused $100,000 in damage, the Toronto Sun reported Thursday.

Carter, a former boxer who recently quit a group that crusades for wrongly convicted people, was out of country at the time of the blaze.
