British manhunt on for killer of four

YORK, England, July 20 (UPI) -- Police in North Yorkshire, England have declared a national manhunt for a man suspected of killing four people last weekend.

Garbage collector Mark Hobson, 34, is the prime suspect in the strangulation, stabbing and beating deaths of two 27-year-old twin sisters in one village, and a married couple in their 80s in another village nearby.

Hobson is known to have dated one of the twins, but detectives said they can find no link to the slain couple, who had been married for 58 years, The Times of London said.

Detective Superintendent Javad Ali of North Yorkshire Police warned the public to stay away from Hobson and to contact the police immediately if they see him.

Deputy Chief Constable Roger Baker said that 100 North Yorkshire police officers were working on the case, but the search for Hobson was now a national manhunt, as details of the suspect were distributed to forces across Britain.
