Teen runaways sought in Wash. homicide

SAN JOSE, Calif., July 7 (UPI) -- A teenage couple that has been on the run from California was suspected Wednesday of murdering a man near Tacoma, Wash.

The father of one of the missing youths was discovered beaten and stabbed to death last week in University Place, and authorities suspect 19-year-old Anthony Chargualaf and his 13-year-old girlfriend, Tiffany Khauv, were involved. The victim was Anthony Quenga Chargualaf, 45.

The couple disappeared in May from the San Jose area after Tiffany's family prohibited the girl, who was then 12, from dating Chargualaf.

No motive for the slaying was known, although the San Jose Mercury News said the couple apparently had stayed with relatives in Washington state for a time before being kicked out because Tiffany was so young.
