Saudi prince vows to beat terrorists

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, June 12 (UPI) -- Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah vowed Saturday that terrorists could not escape justice, adding that their "days are numbered."

Prince Abdullah's comments to university students came as an American was killed in the capital, Riyadh, the third Westerner to be killed in the kingdom, and after the authorities found a booby-trapped car in the city.

The prince promised his audience that "those (terrorists) will not hide from justice or from you," adding that he regretted the attackers were Saudis, "but they were tempted by the devil, and the devil only pushes them towards evil."

He urged the students "never to remain silent anywhere on this devious behavior, and God willing, their days are numbered."

The crown prince also appealed to every Saudi, especially students and teachers, to "educate the people of their religion, homeland, ideology and morals, because what has happened now is truly painful, especially that it came from our sons."

Abdullah's comments came after Saudi Muslim Affairs Minister Saleh bin Abdul Aziz Al al-Sheikh insisted that the Saudi authorities have "destroyed half the terrorist force" in the oil-rich kingdom, and that the problem of terrorism had not reached a stage of crisis.
