Qureia to present security plan to Rice

GAZA, May 10 (UPI) -- Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia says he'll present a security plan during a May meeting with U.S. National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice.

Qureia spoke with reporters following a Monday joint meeting of his cabinet and the council for security chaired by Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. Queria said the plan he'll present to Rice during their May 17 meeting in Germany will be designed to end ongoing violence between Israel and the Palestinians.

Qureia declined to reveal details of the plan that also aims to prevent disturbances after any Israeli army withdrawal from Palestinian territories.

He announced he will consult with the Quartet Committee and the United States in selecting a date for holding presidential and parliamentarian election in the Palestinian territories.

"Elections would make the U.S. stop saying there is no partner and there is no new leadership," said Qureia.
