Feb. 6 is 'Ronald Reagan Day' in Calif.

SACRAMENTO, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- California will mark President Reagan's 93rd birthday next month by declaring it Ronald Reagan Day.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger Thursday signed a proclamation designating the day in honor of Reagan, who served as California's governor from 1967 through 1975.

In his proclamation, Schwarzenegger cited Reagan's "conviction and moral purpose" during his presidency, and saluted Reagan's economic policies and his national security strategies that supporters credit for bringing the Cold War to an end.

Reagan has been racked by Alzheimer's disease in his later years and lives in seclusion in the plush Bel Air area of Los Angeles.
