Five U.S. soldiers, four Iraqis killed

BAGHDAD, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Five U.S. soldiers and four Iraqis were killed and 33 others were injured in separate attacks in the Sunni Triangle of Iraq Saturday.

In the latest attack, a car bomb killed three U.S. soldiers and wounded six others in Khaldiyah, west of Baghdad, CNN reported. Several Iraqi civilians also were wounded in the attack.

Another car bomb blew up near an Iraqi police station in Samarra, north of Baghdad, killing four Iraqis and injuring four others, including two American soldiers.

Earlier Saturday, U.S. soldiers were killed when a roadside bomb exploded in Fallujah, west of Baghdad.

The latest deaths bring the number of U.S. soldiers killed in the war to 511, CNN said.
