Appeal bond maneuvering under way

CHICAGO, April 9 (UPI) -- Philip Morris USA likely is preparing an emergency filing for the Illinois Supreme Court to stay posting of a required $12 billion appeal bond. An attorney in the case said he expects the cigarette maker to meet next Tuesday's scheduled $2.5 billion payment in the national tobacco settlement.
