GOP battles Dems to replace Torricelli

TRENTON, N.J., Oct. 2 (UPI) -- New Jersey Democrats, who chose former Sen. Frank Lautenberg to replace Sen. Robert Torricelli after he dropped out of the Senate race, were in the New Jersey Supreme Court Wednesday to try and get their new candidate's name substituted on the ballot. New Jersey Republicans were fighting the move, saying it "undermined the democratic process."
