Bush seeks to make tax cuts permanent

WASHINGTON, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- President George W. Bush on Tuesday told lawmakers they listened to the American people when they enacted his $1.35 trillion tax cut. "For the sake of long-term growth and to help Americans plan for the future, let's make these tax cuts permanent," Bush said.
