J.J. Watt flashes freakish ability to announce Reebok deal

By Alex Butler

HOUSTON, April 13 (UPI) -- J.J. Watt was literally jumping for joy Monday when he announced his new deal with Reebok. The 293 pound NFL defensive player of the year posted a video of himself doing a 61-inch box jump to his Instagram account.

Watt, 26, performed the leap in a pair of Reebok ZPump Fusion shoes.

Reebok will make his on-field shoe, which will go unbranded during games, and outfit his training and workout apparel, according to ESPN.

"I don't flip tires just to be a tire flipper and I don't do a box jump just to say I can jump on boxes," Watt told ESPN. "I do it because it makes me a better player and a better athlete."

Watt attempted the same jump earlier in the year and made news when photos of his failure circulated online. During the earlier attempt, Watt fell backwards and landed on his spotter.

Watt has 57 sacks in 64 career games in four seasons with the Houston Texans.
