Poole is listed at 6-foot-5, 310 pounds. He was a fourth round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2015 NFL Draft. The Miami Dolphins waived Poole on Saturday.

The San Diego State product spent his rookie campaign on the Seahawks' practice squad. He spent the 2016 season on the Dolphins' practice squad.

Poole, 25, was a depth piece for the Texans' line with starting left tackle Duane Brown holding out of camp. Houston currently has Kendall Lamm, Chris Clark, Breno Giacomini, Julie'n Davenport and Laurence Gibson at tackle.

Houston owned the No. 8 rushing offense last season. The Texans were ranked No. 21 in sacks allowed (32).

Poole has never appeared in an NFL game.

The Texans signed wide receiver Marcus Leak on Saturday. On Thursday, Houston moved linebacker Dayon Pratt onto the active roster from the active/non-football injury list. The Texans also waived defensive end T.J. Daniel and wide receiver Deanté Gray was reverted to the team's reserve/injured list.
