The unsigned free agent spent 2016 on the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad. He worked out for the Carolina Panthers earlier this month. The Chiefs selected Murray with the No. 163 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. After signing him to a four-year deal, the Chiefs put him on waivers. He also spent time on the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad.
Murray, 26, has never taken a snap in an NFL game. The Jets currently have Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg topping its quarterback depth chart, with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Geno Smith hitting free agency this offseason.
