Oakland Raiders QB Derek Carr sustains broken fibula, out indefinitely

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr sustained broken right fibula during Saturday's 33-25 win against the Indianapolis Colts and is out indefinitely, coach Jack Del Rio said.

The injury occured on a sack by Colts linebacker Trent Cole with 10:55 left in the game.

Carr was examined by team doctors and trainers on the field then helped to the bench. He was unable to put weight on his right leg. Carr completed 20 of 30 passes for 228 yards and three touchdowns before departing.

Backup quarterback Matt McGloin took over for Carr with the Raiders leading 33-14. McGloin finished with 29 yards on 2 of 3 passing.

Meanwhile, Colts cornerback Darius Butler sustained a concussion midway through the second quarter against the Raiders and has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Butler was injured while trying to tackle Raiders rookie running back Jalen Richard at the end of a 15-yard run.
