The Los Angeles Rams placed standout defensive end Robert Quinn on injured reserve Thursday, ending a frustrating season for the two-time Pro Bowl selection.

Quinn missed the past two games while in the NFL concussion protocol.

Los Angeles also placed running back Benny Cunningham (neck) on injured reserve and promoted offensive lineman David Arkin and defensive lineman Morgan Fox from the practice squad.

Quinn posted four sacks and two forced fumbles in nine games this season. It was the second consecutive disappointing campaign for Quinn, who compiled 40 sacks from 2012 through 2014 as one of the NFL's top defensive ends.

Quinn's 2016 season included a visit to the hospital in mid-November when he experienced seizure-like symptoms. He told reporters that the incident was due to dehydration.

The Rams (4-9) play the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night in their first contest since firing coach Jeff Fisher. Special teams coach John Fassel is serving as interim coach.
