EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Running back C.J. Spiller lasted about a week as a free agent this season after being dropped by the Seattle Seahawks.

On Tuesday, the New York Jets signed the former Buffalo Bills running back. Former Bills coach Chan Gailey is the Jets' offensive coordinator.

Spiller's presence is likely a move for depth behind Matt Forte and Bilal Powell. The Seahawks signed Spiller to a one-year contract on Sept. 28, before releasing him on Oct. 26. Spiller, 29, has 52 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on eight touches this season. Last season in New Orleans, Spiller had 351 yards from scrimmage and two scores on 70 touches.

Spiller is not worth a spot on your roster in any fantasy football league format.
