PITTSBURGH, July 25 (UPI) -- When it comes to drug tests in the NFL, missing is the same thing as failing.

Despite multiple reports to the contrary, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell claims that he has never missed a drug test, according to TribLive.com.

NFL Network reported last weekend that Bell has missed several drug tests. Bell has been handed a four-game suspension by the NFL. Bell, 24, was also suspended for the first three games of 2015, but had the suspension reduced to two games. He is expected to have his appeal heard on this case before the season starts.

Bell backed up his denial on Instagram, according to TribLive. His Instagram account has gone private, despite its 702,000 followers.

"I am not going to miss games, trust me," Bell wrote in an Instagram comment.

"I'm gonna win the appeal...ppl have no idea what happened but don't worry...let em hate," Bell wrote. "When I end up missin no games at all, ppl for sure gonna try to love me again and I'm only ridin with my LOYAL fans!!"

Bell has been recovering from a torn MCL and PCL this offseason and had surgery in November on his right knee. He was on schedule for a July 28 return, when Steelers camp opens.

The bad decisions and injuries could end up costing Bell, who is in the final year of his rookie deal. He is set to make $966,900 this season. This offseason Bell spoke out on social media about the large salaries handed to NBA free agents, before rapping in a song that he wanted to play for $15 million annually.

Bell rushed for 556 yards and three scores in six games last season.
