DALLAS, N.C., April 27 (UPI) -- Many young football players are lost when it comes to surviving an offseason seamlessly, but Steve Smith knows exactly what he is doing.

The Baltimore Ravens wide receiver has used his veteran mindset to make a difference. He continued to make positive headlines when he took 18-year-old Aubrey Bridges to her senior prom last Saturday.

The North Gaston High School senior was diagnosed with autism at 2-years-old and suffers from Vein of Galen aneurysmal malformation disorder, impacting her ability to communicate.

Smith made one of her dreams come true, when he teamed up with the Dream on 3 organization to take her to the dance.

The Ravens posted a fantastic video of the event Tuesday. In the video, Smith can't shed his smile quite as fast as he sheds NFL defensive backs.

"When they asked me...the only thing I really had to check was the date," Smith said in the video.

"I thought it was a pretty simple answer, which was yes."

Smith sent a video prom-proposal to Bridges, before showing up in a limousine to take pictures, and ride with Bridges and her friends to dinner and prom.

Bridges, who was also crowned prom queen, has been accepted into Winthrop University.

Smith, 36, had his 2015 season cut short after an injury, but vowed to come back for another season this year. He has 961 receptions, for 13,932 yards and 76 touchdown catches in 15 career seasons.
