NEW ORLEANS, March 9 (UPI) -- Coby Fleener fled Indianapolis for New Orleans Wednesday, signing a five-year deal with the Saints.

The tight end was the odd-man-out in Indianapolis, after the team gave big bucks to fellow tight end Dwayne Allen. The Saints forked out $36 million for the 27-year-old, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Fleener wrote Twitter messages addressing both the Colts and Saints Wednesday.

"@Colts fans: Thank you for the support and the memories over the past 4 years! Indianapolis was a great place to start my @NFL career," Fleener tweeted.

"@Saints fans: I'm excited to join your outstanding team. I can't wait 2 get started working toward bringing a Championship to NOLA! #WhoDat," Fleener tweeted.
