Running back Karlos Williams entered the NFL concussion protocol on Monday and could miss the Buffalo Bills' Week 5 game against the Tennessee Titans.

Williams started Sunday in place of LeSean McCoy, whose hamstring injury has been a problem for more than a month. McCoy is not expected to return until he's 100 percent healthy.

General manager Doug Whaley said Williams didn't notify the team of symptoms of a head injury until Monday.

"He told our trainers several hours after the game that he wasn't feeling well and our medical staff took a look at him," Whaley told WGR 550. "They put him through further evaluations late yesterday afternoon and it was determined that he'll have a concussion. So we'll see how he proceeds throughout the week."

Williams must be cleared by an independent neurologist to return to the field. He had 18 carries for 40 yards and caught a 23-yard touchdown pass in Buffalo's loss to the Giants. He rushed for 110 yards in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins.

Whaley said the Bills consider Williams day-to-day.

If he's not available and McCoy is idle, Whaley said the Bills would look to add depth to the roster but added Buffalo feels "very comfortable with Boobie Dixon and Cierre Wood."
