The basketball fortunes of former No. 1 overall NBA draft pick Anthony Bennett continue to slide in the wrong direction.

The 24-year-old Bennett, who washed out with four NBA teams, was cut by a team in Turkey during the EuroLeague playoffs.

Bennett averaged just 1.3 points and 1.0 rebound and shot 26.3 percent from the field in nine EuroLeague games for Fenerbahce of the Turkish Basketbol Super Ligi. He was cut to make room for former NBA player Pero Antic.

Bennett was the surprise first overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2013 draft and averaged 4.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in 151 NBA games.

He averaged 4.2 points and 3.0 rebounds and shot 35.6 percent from the field in his rookie season for the Cavaliers. He was sent to the Minnesota Timberwolves following the season as part of the deal that brought Kevin Love to Cleveland, but his play did not improve as he averaged 5.2 points and 3.8 rebounds during the 2014-15 campaign.

Bennett was released by the Timberwolves and his hometown Toronto Raptors took a chance on him. He spent much of his time in the D-League and averaged 1.5 points and 1.2 rebounds in 19 games with the Raptors before being released during the 2015-16 season.

The Brooklyn Nets signed Bennett prior to this season and he averaged 5.0 points and 3.4 rebounds in 23 games before again being released in January.

Bennett signed with Fenerbahce and was unable to make much of an impact. He averaged 9.0 points and 6.4 rebounds in seven "domestic league" outings and his subpar showings against EuroLeague clubs hastened his demise.

Bennett played college basketball at UNLV.
