Cleveland Cavaliers sign F Derrick Williams to second 10-day contract

The Cleveland Cavaliers signed forward Derrick Williams to a second 10-day contract on Wednesday.

Williams, 25, signed his first 10-day contract with the Cavs on Feb. 9 -- the fifth team during his six years in the NBA.

Williams, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves, was waived by the Miami Heat on Feb. 6.

The 6-foot-8, 245-pound Williams is averaging 9.8 points on .600 shooting and 3.0 rebounds in 22.9 minutes per contest in four games with the Cavs.

Prior to joining the Cavaliers, Williams played in 25 games (11 starts) for the Heat and averaged 5.9 points and 2.9 rebounds in 15.1 minutes.

In 405 regular-season games with Minnesota, the Sacramento Kings, New York Knicks and Miami, Williams is averaging 9.1 points and 4.1 rebounds.
