It's unanimous: Warriors star Stephen Curry named NBA MVP

Three-point magician is the first player ever to win it unanimously, fourth to earn it back-to-back.

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry was named NBA Most Valuable Player on Tuesday, becoming the first unanimous winner in the award's 61-year history.

Curry is the 11th player to win back-to-back MVP awards. He joins Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and Steve Nash as the only guards to do so in consecutive campaigns.

Curry received all 131 first-place votes to post 1,310 points in the balloting. San Antonio forward Kawhi Leonard (634) was second, followed by Cleveland forward LeBron James (631) and Oklahoma City guard Russell Westbrook (486).

Curry averaged a league-leading 30.1 points and made an NBA-record 402 3-point baskets while guiding Golden State to a 73-9 record, the best regular-season mark in NBA history.

Curry set a record for most points scored in overtime Monday night against the Portland Trailblazers. He added 17 points in 5 minutes to help the Warriors win.
