The Los Angeles Dodgers placed center fielder Joc Pederson on the seven-day concussion list on Thursday, two nights after he was involved in a scary collision with right fielder Yasiel Puig.

The move was retroactive to May 24.

"It makes you feel weird and you don't really feel like yourself," Pederson told reporters of the concussion.

The Dodgers filled the roster spot by activating right-hander Kenta Maeda, the starter for Thursday night's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Maeda was on the 10-day disabled list because of a hamstring injury.

Pederson injured his neck and head after colliding with Puig in the gap in right-center field in the 10th inning of Tuesday's game. The players slammed into one another at high speed and the momentum carried Pederson toward the wall and his head hit the base of the fence.

Puig was able to stay in the game, while Pederson was helped off the field. He was originally diagnosed with a strained neck.
