SunTrust Park was designed by Populous, managed by JLL and built by American Builders. EarthCam footage shows the park from the foundation stages to Braves' Opening Day over 26 months, in just 90 seconds.

Atlanta (10-14) won its home opener 5-2 on April 14 against the San Diego Padres. The Braves played at their former home, Turner Field, from 1997 through 2016, before leaving it this offseason. Turner Field was initially a candidate for demolition, before being bought by Georgia State University to be converted into a football stadium.

SunTrust Park plays host to the Braves against the New York Mets at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday. The Braves lost the first game of the series 7-5 Monday.

The Braves went 1,786-1,454 in 20 seasons at Turner Field, good for a .551 winning percentage. Its two-decade run at the park included 12 post-season runs, four NLCS appearances and one World Series appearance. The Braves appeared in the World Series four times, winning once, while playing at Fulton County Stadium in the 1990s. The franchise, which has been known as the Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Braves, Boston Braves, Boston Bees, Boston Rustlers, Boston Doves, Boston Beaneaters, and the Boston Red Stockings has three world championships, 23 playoff appearances and 17 pennants.
