Miami Dolphins tight end Jordan Cameron was ruled out of Thursday's game at Cincinnati with a concussion.

Cameron, 28, had seven catches for 55 yards and a touchdown in the first three games. He was injured in the second quarter of Sunday's overtime win against the Cleveland Browns and evaluated for a concussion.

Dolphins head coach Adam Gase said Cameron, who was plagued by concussions with the Browns before joining Miami in free agency. He had three documented concussions in his first four seasons and missed several games in 2014 while recovering from a severe head injury.

In 2014, Cameron said he reached out to longtime tight end Ben Watson - currently on injured reserve with the Baltimore Ravens - about playing through head injuries.

"If you look back at the concussions I've gotten, it's not like I'm a fragile person. It's not like I take a little hit and I get a concussion," he said after missing four consecutive games in 2014. "I've taken some stuff that's serious and if anyone was in this situation they'd get a concussion. They can watch the tape and they'll know anyone would've gotten concussions in those situations."

Dion Sims replaced Cameron in the lineup at tight end on Sunday and is likely to start Thursday against the Bengals.
