Veteran receiver Anquan Boldin is on the verge of signing with the Detroit Lions and rejoining one of his former offensive coordinators.

The 35-year-old Boldin is expected to sign a one-year deal, according to multiple reports. The Lions are in need to add depth at receiver following Calvin Johnson's retirement in the offseason.

Boldin, who worked out for Detroit last month, will be reunited with Lions coach Jim Caldwell, the former Baltimore Ravens' offensive coordinator.

Boldin, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, joins a wide receiver roster consisting of Golden Tate, Marvin Jones, T.J. Jones and Jeremy Kerley, among others.

Boldin reeled in 69 receptions for 789 yards and four touchdowns with San Francisco last season. He has recorded 1,009 catches for 13,195 yards and 74 touchdowns since being selected by Arizona in the second round of the 2003 draft.
