Running back Benny Cunningham and wide receiver Kevin Hogan, both restricted free agents, were scheduled to visit the New England Patriots on Thursday.

Cunningham, undrafted out of Middle Tennessee State, is a very good receiver and blocker, traits the Patriots value in their running backs. He has enough power to run through tackles in the open field and could make a good complement to Dion Lewis, who is returning from a knee injury.

Cunningham was tendered at the low level of $1.6 million by the Los Angeles Rams, meaning the Patriots would owe no draft compensation if they sign Cunningham to an offer sheet the Rams opt not to match.

Hogan was the No. 3 receiver most of last season for the Bills and was particularly successful against the Patriots. He was also tendered at the low level despite catching 77 passes the past two seasons. Given their cap situation -- the Bills were projected at $4 million under the cap Thursday morning -- matching an offer sheet for Hogan might prove challenging.
