HOUSTON, March 10 (UPI) -- After stepping up as a back-up quarterback for the Green Bay Packers in one 2012 start, Matt Flynn hit pay dirt.

But Flynn flung dirt on Osweiler Wednesday, after the former Denver Broncos backup quarterback signed a four-year, $72 million deal with the Houston Texans.

"Wow I know I'm going to get killed for this and I don't have a lot of room to talk, but this latest QB contract is unbelievable," Flynn tweeted.

Flynn, who threw for 480 yards and six touchdowns on Jan. 1, 2012, was greeted with a three-year $26 million deal from the Seattle Seahawks the following season. Flynn responded by being beat out by Russell Wilson for the starting job. Flynn completed 5-of-9 passes for 68 yards in three games for the Seahawks.

"Would it have helped if I said "with all due respect?" #RickyBobby," Flynn tweeted.

Wilson would go on to win the Super Bowl in 2013 and has started all 16 games for the Seahawks each season since 2012.

In 2013, Flynn was traded from the Seahawks to the Oakland Raiders, then played for the Buffalo Bills and Packers.

In 2014, Flynn completed 8-of-16 passes for 66 yards and an interception. Flynn, 30, signed with the New England Patriots and New York Jets last season before signing with New Orleans Saints in November to be the backup quarterback. He is now a free agent.

Osweiler, 25, completed 170-of-275 passes for 1,967 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions in eight games last season. Before last season, he had completed 17-of-30 passes for one touchdown in 13 games for Denver.
