Veteran infielder Juan Uribe agreed to a one-year contract with the Cleveland Indians, multiple media outlets reported Friday.

The deal is worth $5 million and is dependent on Uribe passing his physical, according to Cleveland.com, which also reported that Uribe's arrival at spring training may be delayed because he is having visa problems in the Dominican Republic.

Uribe, who turns 37 next month, played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves and New York Mets last season, when he hit .253 with 14 homers and 43 RBIs in 119 games for the three teams combined.

Uribe has played third base primarily during his major-league career, and his signing may mean reduced playing time for Giovanny Urshela, who played well defensively at third base but hit just .225 with six homers in 81 games for Cleveland last season.
