Free-agent outfielder Delmon Young was arrested and charged with battery on Sunday night after allegedly threatening to kill a hotel valet in Miami. Young, 30, was upset after he couldn't gain entrance to a club. He accosted the valet both verbally and physically, according to a police report.

The incident happened at the Viceroy Hotel, where Young is a resident.
Young asked the valet to open an elevator and he was told the elevator was closed.
After being told the club wasn't open, Young allegedly grabbed the hotel employee by the neck and made the threat to kill him.
Young hurled anti-Cuban slurs at the man and began to choke him. The valet was able to get free approximately five seconds later.
Young ran off and police later found him in his room. He opened his door and was naked from the waist down.
According to the police report, Young acted belligerently toward officers.
Young has played for five major-league teams, most recently the Baltimore Orioles.
He also a brush with the law in 2012 when he arrested and pled guilty to aggravated harassment for yelling anti-Semitic slurs while intoxicated in New York City. Young drew a seven-game suspension by Major League Baseball and ordered to undergo counseling.
In 2006, Young was suspended for 50 games while playing minor-league baseball for the Durham Bulls after he threw his bat at an umpire.
