Buffalo running back LeSean McCoy's status for Thursday's game against the New York Jets is in doubt.

McCoy missed Monday's walkthrough after suffering a shoulder strain in Sunday's win over the Miami Dolphins.

McCoy insisted after the game he would be "fine" to go against the Jets.

"I believe he'll play," head coach Rex Ryan said Tuesday. "How significant his role will be, I'm not sure."

If McCoy can't play, Ryan will rely on Karlos Williams to shoulder the load against the No. 1-ranked defense against the run. Williams scored two touchdowns and rushed for 110 yards after McCoy departed Sunday's game.

In that 33-17 victory, McCoy rushed 16 times for 112 yards before leaving in the second half.

He's already missed two games this season because of an injury.
