LeBron James can go home again, agreeing Thursday to a two-year deal worth a maximum $46.9 million with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

James holds a player option for 2016-17, according to multiple reports, a structure expected with contract values projected to balloon next summer upon renegotiation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. James opted out of a two-year deal on June 29 to reach free agency.

The Cavaliers doled out maximum contracts to forward Kevin Love and point guard Kyrie Irving, who signed the deal last year that became official July 1, and re-signed guard Iman Shumpert. Cleveland is also near a new contract with restricted free agent Tristan Thompson, according to reports. Thompson is represented by James' agent (Rich Paul).
