Logano wins Xfinity race at Phoenix

Joey Logano put on a dominating performance to win Saturday's 200-mile Xfinity Series race at Phoenix International Raceway.

Logano, a Sprint Cup Series regular and winner of the Daytona 500 last month, led 176 of 200 laps in this race. He claimed his 22nd career Xfinity victory but his first since September 2013 at Dover. Logano had been winless in his last 13 Xfinity starts.

It's the second time Logano has won a Xfinity race at this flat, one-mile track. He started on the pole and led 168 laps in his most recent start here in November 2012 when he drove for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Logano drove the No. 22 Ford for Team Penske in this race. His teammate, Brad Keselowski, took that car to victory lane when the series last competed at Phoenix four and a half months ago. Keselowski is scheduled to drive the No. 22 in next Saturday's event at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.

Matt Kenseth, driving the No. 20 Toyota for JGR, gained on Logano in the closing laps, but Kenseth came up 0.294 seconds short at the finish.

Logano became the fourth different driver to win in as many Xfinity races this season, joining Ryan Reed (Daytona), Kevin Harvick (Atlanta) and Austin Dillon (Las Vegas).

Harvick finished third, while Dillon took the fourth spot. Erik Jones, driving the No. 54 JGR Toyota in place of the injured Kyle Busch, placed fifth.
