LOS ANGELES, April 28 (UPI) -- Former LA Lakers player Magic Johnson slammed LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling for his racist comments that sparked widespread outrage, saying Sterling "shouldn't own a team anymore."

Johnson took to Twitter Saturday to express his disgust for Sterling and his blatant racism, claiming Sterling disgraces the NBA.

Johnson went on to say in an interview Sunday that the NBA should "come down hard" on Sterling, who "shouldn't own a team anymore."

"I had a friendship with him [Sterling]. So for him to then make these comments, or alleged comments, about myself as well as other African-Americans and minorities, there's no place in our society for it," said Johnson.

The NBA is currently deciding how to deal with Sterling and his discriminatory behavior. Though Johnson is a loyal Lakers fan, he says he would consider purchasing the Clippers in order to oust Sterling.

Johnson isn't the only one who had harsh words for Sterling. President Barack Obama, Lebron James, and rapper Snoop Dogg all condemned the remarks.

Johnson has said he will not attend any Clippers games as long as Sterling remains owner.
