LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Los Angeles Clippers all-star point guard Chris Paul has a separated shoulder could miss up to six weeks, the team announced Sunday.

It was first anticipated Paul could be back as soon as three weeks, but a magnetic resonance imaging exam performed Sunday revealed the extent of the injury.

He was found to have suffered a grade 3 AC joint separation in his right shoulder.

The superstar guard averaged 19.6 points and 11.2 assists per game in 34 contests this season.
