PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Wayne Simmonds scored a pair of goals Monday and the Philadelphia Flyers went into the holiday break with a 4-1 victory over Minnesota.
Luke Schenn and Claude Giroux also scored and Jakub Voracek provided two assists as the Flyers reeled off a ninth straight home win -- their longest such streak since 2005.

Steve Mason turned aside 26-of-27 shots for Philadelphia, which is off until Friday when it begins a six-game road trip.
Mikael Granlund got the only goal for Minnesota, which dropped a third straight on the road and fifth in seven games overall.
Niklas Backstrom made 27 saves.
