Montreal came back from a two-goal deficit for only their second win of November. Columbus has lost eight out of nine with three of those setbacks coming in overtime.

R.J. Umberger and Artem Anisimov scored in the first period for the Blue Jackets and Alex Galchenyuk started the Canadiens' comeback with 8 seconds to go in the opening period.

Lars Ellier tied it midway through the second period on the power play.

Peter Budaj stopped 23 shots and then was perfect in the shootout to get the win. McElhinney was called on to stop 38 shots but it was still not enough.
