Josh Harding protected that lead until Florida came up with goals from Tomas Kopecky and Jonathan Huberdeau during the first half of the third period.

Harding then settled down and made 22 saves for the victory. Tim Thomas allowed the three Minnesota goals on 20 shots.

Florida won its season opener in Dallas and has not won away from home since, suffering nine straight road losses.
