NBA: Golden State 125, Los Angeles Lakers 94

OAKLAND, Calif., Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Klay Thompson had a sensational shooting effort while scoring 38 points Wednesday, launching Golden State to a 125-94 rout of the Los Angeles Lakers.

It was easily the most one-sided game played over the first two evenings of NBA action this season.

One night after opening their campaign with a victory over the home-town rival Clippers, the Lakers were overwhelmed from the middle of the second period to the end of the contest.

Thompson hit 15-of-19 from the field, made four 3-pointers and paced a 54-percent shooting performance by the Warriors. Golden State converted 15-of-27 from beyond the arc.

David Lee added 24 points for Golden State and Stephen Curry had 10.

Jodie Meeks and Xavier Henry both had 14 for the Lakers, who took three more shots from the field than did the Warriors and made 11 fewer.

Golden State took a 19-point lead at halftime and built it to 33 heading into the fourth quarter.
