RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Jayson Megna scored his first NHL goal and added an assist Monday, helping Pittsburgh break a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over Carolina.

Megna, a 23-year-old Northbrook, Ill., native, was recalled from last week from the American Hockey League and was playing in his second career game when he assisted on Tanner Glass' first-period goal.

After Chris Kunitz gave the Pens a 2-1 lead in the second, Megna deflected a Sidney Crosby shot into the net early in the third for the final margin.

Crosby finished with two assists and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 20-of-21 shots.

Nathan Gerbe scored and Justin Peters made 26 saves for the Hurricanes.
